| 09 March 2015 Alumnus wins outstanding doctoral research award
Alumnus Dr Peter Marzec has been awarded the 2014 prize for Outstanding Doctoral Research in Operations and Production Management by Emerald and EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).
His thesis is titled ‘A Knowledge-Based View of Process Improvement: A Mixed Methods Study into the Role of Social Networks and Knowledge Acquisition’. During his PhD at Nottingham University Business School, Peter was supervised by Dr Kim Hua Tan, and graduated in 2013. Prior to embarking on his doctoral studies, Peter successfully completed an MSc Operations Managemen with Nottingham University Business School, graduating with Distinction.
Peter has extensive experience in management, consumer goods manufacturing, resources, agri-business, and higher education in Australia, Malaysia, UK and China. He is currently manager of KPMG’s Operational Improvement Services group based in Sydney.
The Emerald and EFMD’s Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards have been running since 2006 and have helped to foster, celebrate, encourage and recognise excellence in scholarly research all over the world. This year there were 12 categories and winners each received a cash prize of €1,500.
