Asia's most inspiring and visionary entrepreneurs to take part in Ningbo China Campus 'Entrepreneurship Day'

On Saturday March 28th 2015, Nottingham University Business School China will host its annual 'Entrepreneurship Day' featuring some of Asia's most inspiring entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

The students only morning session will see The University of Nottingham Ningbo China's (UNNC) entrepreneurship associations open their doors to provide a glimpse of their exciting activities. A new website summarising all UNNC entrepreneurial activities, associations, mentorship, funding opportunities and much more will also be presented.

An 'entrepreneurial firework' display will get the free afternoon session off to a real bang. This will be followed by presentations and interactive discussions about different aspects of entrepreneurship with high profile speakers from Mainland China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. The final part of the afternoon will provide some of the most promising UNNC student start-ups to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts and receive feedback. The best start-up idea will be announced on the day. Local entrepreneurs and representatives from the Ningbo business community are expected to attend the afternoon session.

Most speakers will give their talks in Chinese, but English or Chinese translation will be available. The following people will speak at Entrepreneurship Day, more will be confirmed later.

• Calvin Lin is CEO and founder of MacroWell OMG, a leading company producing online games (listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange), and the head behind Allpay (the Taiwanese version of Allpay). He is an exceptional speaker and looks forward to sharing his experiences with you.
• San Eng is widely known in China as the 'PE Guy' and is Managing Partner and co-founder of Shanghai-based Xcelerate. Xcelerate is an investment firm that funds exciting technology start-ups and leverages retail concepts. San IPO'd his own multi-million dollar ​company and has invested more than 2.5 billion RMB in dozens of consumer and technology firms.
• Dato Siu Wai Lau (dato is the Malay title of knighthood/Sir), who was born in 1931 in Chaozhou,  Guangdong Province, is a passionate real estate developer. His life story is heartwarming. After many failures in his early years, today, he is not only owner of the Meritz Hotel group, but also initiated Curtin University to open a campus in Sarawak, and has realized dozens of sizeable real estate projects.

The highlight of the day will be the opportunity to meet the speakers in a more interactive setting at a special dinner starting at 17.30. With the theme 'Supporting Entrepreneurship', the funds raised through the dinner will be used to help develop NUBS China activities to support UNNC students starting their own businesses. An 'early bird' rate of 900 RMB per person is available up to March 15 but seats are limited.
