14 October 2015 Entrepreneur lectures students at Nottingham University Business School
A Nottingham based property entrepreneur is inspiring the next generation of business undergraduates by volunteering to teach a module on International Business Leadership Management at the University of Nottingham Business School.
As a University of Nottingham graduate himself, Ali Baylav, owner of Cavendish Residential has visited the University’s Jubilee Campus each semester for the last two years, to offer his own experiences and guidance on running a business to a the students.
Fuelled by a passion for giving back to the University that educated him, whilst wanting to help future graduates to have the best possible start to their careers, the property consultancy were delighted to offer Ali’s help.
Skills and development manager at the University of Nottingham Business School, Jackie Andrews, said: “The class is an extra-curricular module and every single student found Ali’s seminar very interesting and extremely useful.
“Ali has an excellent rapport with the students and we were really happy with how willing he was to offer more advice and to follow up ideas that had been discussed in the session after it had finished.”
Cavendish Residential finds its work in the community and support for local education establishments very important and recently organised a day which saw Nottingham Forest players visit an inner city school in Nottingham, in a bid to encourage further reading in youngsters.
Ali Baylav, said: “I studied Business Production and Operations Management at the University of Nottingham between 1998-2001 and loved every minute of my course. It was a huge honour and pleasure to have the opportunity to return to the business school to offer advice to current undergraduates.
“I moved to Nottingham for University from London and unlike many of my classmates who did the same, I decided to stay in Nottingham to start my career. I would implore any graduate to stay in Nottingham, as there are so many opportunities available to forge out a successful career in business.”
