Business and management topics delivered by high profile business people, our Business Leaders Series events are open to our alumni, students, staff of the Business School and the University, and our business associates. They provide an opportunity to update your knowledge, gain fresh insights into current issues, quiz senior business leaders and meet like-minded professionals from the business and university communities.

Business Leaders Series events are held in the Sir Colin Campbell Building on the Jubilee Campus and are always followed by a networking buffet. All events are free to our alumni and you're welcome to attend and bring colleagues from your organisation.

Neil Morris joined BP in 1985 after graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering and subsequently completed an MBA in 1992.

He spent the early part of his career at Grangemouth Refinery, Stirlingshire, Scotland in various technical, operational and business roles before moving to Coryton Refinery, Essex, England as Operations Support Manager.

In 2000, he transferred with BP to Chicago, USA as a Project Manager in the Mergers & Acquisitions team to lead the post-Amoco merger refinery divestment programme.

In 2002, he took up a new role as the Works General Manager for a newly commissioned petrochemicals facility in Alberta, Canada.

On returning to London in 2004, he was Executive Assistant to the BP Group's Chief Financial Officer. He was then appointed Vice-President Strategy and Planning for the Gas, Power and Renewables business segment.

Since 2008 Neil has been Vice President for Refining, leading the Engineering and Technology team supporting BP’s global refining portfolio.

Neil is a member of Nottingham University Business School's Advisory Board.
